What difference between EMPro and HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator)?

EMPro is 3DEM EM solver as what HFSS does. However there are multiple EM simulation technologies in the market not only FEM (Finite Element Method) but also FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) and MoM (Method of Moment).

Depending on the type of problems, sometimes FEM is better for the choice of engine and vice versa. EMPro offers two engines embedded (FEM and FDTD) so that type of design problems you can handle is a lot more flexible than HFSS.

In addition to multiple engines, EMPro offers the best integrated solution to ADS (Advanced Design System) environment. You can directly open EMPro design as an Open Access (OA) library and do FEM simulations with other circuits (schematics) in ADS. This allows you to sweep/optimize the design that combines EM for circuit specifications such as IP3, gain compression, etc not only s-parameters.
